Snow in Beijing

Scientists seeded the clouds for rain and down comes the snow. There has been a drought in the area so they tried to make it rain.
With temperatures falling below zero it snowed in the Chinese capital for half a day on Sunday after chemicals were fired into the clouds.
Almost 200 pellets of silver iodide were seeded into the clouds to try to bring rain but, according to local media, the temperature plummeted helped by strong winds and turned to snow instead.
It's the earliest snow that has been seen in the capital for more than a decade and also caused some travel problems.
The farming areas suffering from the drought received 4cm of rain to ease their problems.
Cloud seeding is a relatively common in China as it is used to ease drought and it was also used during the Olympics to combat pollution and to try to ensure good weather for various events.
